Dear Martin

3/14/0978/FP – REGENT PETROL STATION AND ADJOINING PROPERTIES – BISHOP'S STORTFORD

I am writing on behalf of the Bishop's Stortford Civic Federation to make representations about these development proposals.

We note that the number of dwellings (and presumably parking spaces, though this is not clear from the new material) remain the same in the revised plans. The reduction in building height is marginal at best and putting the top storey into dormers and describing it as 3.5 floors does not disguise the fact that the main block is still a four storey building with a pitched roof.

Our objections, set out in my letter of 14 August 2014, concerning the overdevelopment of the site, excessive height of the proposals and insufficiency of car parking have not been sufficiently addressed. We believe that the maximum height of the development should be three storeys plus a pitched roof, to ensure its compatibility with its surroundings, and that this could be achieved by a reduction in the number of dwellings.

Yours sincerely

John Rhodes
President, Bishop's Stortford Civic Federation
