Welcome
The Bishop's Stortford Civic Federation (BSCF) came into being in the summer of 2006 and seeks to represent the interests of all the community associations in the town. The BSCF is registered as a charity (number R264557) with the
Charity Commission.
Why we exist
- To put the town's interests first, ahead of those of other parties such as the District, the Region, Uttlesford or the British Airports Authority.
- To act on behalf of the BSCF's residents' associations as a single point of contact between East Herts District Council and other statutory bodies on all matters that affect the quality of life in Bishop's Stortford.
- To ensure that an overall coherent strategy is applied to all major decisions that have an effect on the town and its local communities.
- To monitor and influence the decision making of the various local authorities and others, always within the principles and practices of sustainable development.
- To work together with the relevant community associations to ensure that the town's residents live, work and socialise in safe and peaceful communities without being subjected to crime or the fear of crime.
